So what, Who cares
Jan 16, 2023
27 years ago, while teaching a presentations class to what is now a massive Fintech software company, I introduced a quick and easy method to critique each slide in a PowerPoint presentation.
That method was So what/Who cares.
Very simply, as you look at each slide, picture the audience saying, “So what?” and/or “Who cares?”
It’s a way to get rid of useless facts, vendor language the audience doesn’t understand, and features they don’t care about.
You can even use these words to explain benefits.
For example, “And what this means to you is…” and “Why you should care about this is…”
Simple. Effective. Memorable.
It worked in the 1990s and still works today.
Have a great week!

P.S. I still teach this in the latest version of my “Developing & Delivering Great Presentations” program. Now available online as well as onsite. For teams or individuals. Message me at [email protected] if you’d like to learn more.
